What Is an Octave Fiddle (Octave Violin)? | Olav’s Corner #1

Welcome to the first episode of Olav’s Corner!

In this episode, I'm taking a closer look at the octave fiddle, also known as the octave violin – what it is, how it works, and how it can be used in folk music.

I'll play a few examples to demonstrate its deep, rich sound and show how I use it in my own music, particularly with The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc.

Have you ever played or heard an octave fiddle? Let me know in the comments!
