Meet the fiddle maker and see how a fiddle is made!
Ole Gjerde is a violin maker in Hardanger, Norway.
He has had his own workshop in Strandebarm since 2018.
He has had his own workshop in Strandebarm since 2018.
Ole is known for experimenting and combining craftsmanship with new technologies, such as CNC and 3D modeling, and has delivered nearly 50 instruments worldwide.
In the workshop Ole will show you, with the help of parts and pictures, how a Hardanger fiddle is made.
At the end, you can also get answers to any questions you may have and receive advice on how to maintain and care for your instrument!
How do I participate?
Some workshops are free, but most workshops are members only.
Signup for a membership
and get access to all past and future workshops and video lessons.
Around 10 minutes before the workshop starts, a big orange 'Join zoom meeting' button will appear underneath the countdown clock. You can click that button to join the Zoom workshop.
You will be put in a waiting room and the host will let you in.
If you haven't downloaded Zoom you will be prompted to do so.

- Keep yourself muted when playing along
- Post in the chat if you have any questions
- The host/teacher can then choose when to address questions that come up
