About Kjell-Erik
Kjell-Erik was born in 1971 and grew up in a village called Kaxås in the county of Jämtland. He works as a full-time musician, both on stage and as a teacher. Touring with Hoven Droven, Triakel, Breda gatan and work as a music teacher at Birka folkhögskola. The music from Offerdal is very important. Since being a teenager he has been listening to a lot of older fiddler and archive material and has been digging deep into the Lapp-Nils tradition.
In 2001 Kjell-Erik recorded a solo album called ”Offerdalslåtar” which focused on the music after the legendary fiddler Lapp-Nils. Simon Simonsson has been a teacher and fiddle brother for a long time. Simon is a fiddler with a long relationship with the old folk music in the county of Älvdalen in Dalarna.
